With the attrition rate for CSMs on the rise how important do you think compensation is?

Some would say that CSMs across the technology sector are underpaid.

Others would be quick to acknowledge that even-though pay could be an issue the bigger question revolves around supply and demand. The argument would be that there are more CSM roles to fill than qualified personnel to satisfy such a robust growth in CS.

Others would even claim that companies just don't have a clear enough data set around CSM pay because the role is still in very early stages!

Is CSM attrition in your experience the product of under-compensation, lack of compensation data or the greater availability of CSM positions in the technology sector and why?
